摘要：

The construction and operation of a modified pattern sampler for littoral microcrustaceans is described. The sampler is lightweight and inexpensive, yet produces quantitative information on populations and their spatial array. The composition of collections made by net and pattern samplers was not significantly different. The pattern sampler offers several advantages.
