摘要
Reversed-phase separation provides a versatile technique in high-performance liquid chromatography. Although silica, alumina, and zirconia are often used as support materials, graphitized carbon black has the advantages of being neutral and stable over a wide range of pH, Its poor mechanical stability has been improved by chemical and thermal processing to produce porous graphitized carbon supports, The properties of these supports, mechanisms of retention, and applications are discussed, along with correlations which can guide the choice of solvent combinations for typical separations.
