摘要
In this paper the machine layout problem in an automated manufacturing system is addressed. Two models for solving the machine layout problem are developed. A knowledge-based system for machine layout (KBML) is presented. K.BML combines the optimization and expert system approaches and considers quantitative as well as qualitative factors while solving the machine layout problem. The system is coded in Common LISP and implemented on a Symbolics 3650 machine. It is illustrated with a numerical example. © 1990 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
