摘要
This work is a small extension of our NACA studies of the early 1950's that predicted amplification of turbulence on passing through a shock wave (observed for turbulent boundary layers), as well as the generation of intense noise (observed for supersonic jets). There is a brief review of aspects of the basic theory: 1) the interaction of an infinite planar shock with a single three-dimensional spectrum component of turbulence (an oblique sinusoidal 'shear wave'); and 2) parts of the three-dimensional spectrum analysis necessary to generalize the scenario to the interaction of a shock wave with convected homogeneous turbulence. Ratios of the several postshock spectra to the longitudinal preshock turbulence spectrum (one-dimensional) are presented graphically for a wide range of Mach numbers.
