ON THE STRUCTURE OF THERMAL CRACKS IN GLASS

摘要
We study thermal-shock-induce fragmentation of soda glass plates. The total length of cracks and the characteristics of the fracture patterns are investigated both in direct and Fourier space. The relevance of the fractal concept to the problem is discussed. The obtained experimental results are explained considering a simple theoretical model.
