摘要
The localization of acid and alkaline phosphatases in Fasciola hepatica has been studied by electron microscopy. The study confirms the presence of acid phosphatase in cells of the intestine, tegument, and parenchyma and of alkaline phosphatase in the small excretory ducts. In addition, the presence of acid phosphatase in the excretory system and of alkaline in the parenchyma has been demonstrated for the first time. In the majority of tissues the enzymes are either in lysosome-like bodies or intimately associated with plasma membranes. The possible role of membrane-related phosphatases and membrane transport is discussed. It is suggested that phophatases function to dephosphorylate substances after they enter the organism from the environment, or to dephosphorylate substances before or after they leave cells and are transported to adjacent cells within the organism. © 1968.
