A NEW, CONVENIENT SYNTHETIC ROUTE TO TETRAMETHYLETHANO-BRIDGED CHROMOCENE COMPLEXES

摘要
The reaction of (CH3)(4)C-2[eta(5)-C5H4]Ca-2 With CrCl2 in the presence of 1 equiv of tert-butyl isocyanide affords (CH3)(4)C-2[eta(5)-C5H4]Cr-2(C=NtBu), offering a new and convenient synthetic entry into this ansa-chromocene system. The isocyanide complex undergoes ligand substitution with CO to form the previously reported (CH3)(4)C-2[eta(5)-C5H4]2CrCO, which may also be prepared by reacting (CH3)(4)C-2[eta(5)-C5H4]Ca-2 With CrCl2 in the presence of an atmosphere of carbon monoxide.
