摘要
A convenient apparatus for measuring density, viscosity and surface tension of molten oxide materials was designed and constructed. The Archimedian method, the Pt-sphere viscometry and the ring method were adopted for measurement of these properties. Both absolute and relative measurements of viscosity were possible using this apparatus. Viscosity calibration for the relative measurement was carried out. The correction method for the absolute measurement was discussed. The apparatus was used for the determination of these properties of molten LiNbO3 with congruent composition. The molten LiNbO3 was found to be practically Newtonian.
