摘要
Malathion was topically applied to 24-48 h old Menochilus sexmaculatus (F.) adults [predators of maize-infecting aphids]. The 24-D LD50 was about 0.061.gamma./beetle. Virgin females laid fewer eggs than mated females but fecundity was not affected by frequency of mating. Sublethal dosages of malathion had the greatest effect on fecundity at the higher doses used. Although the longest lifespan was recorded for beetles receiving the highest dosages of toxicant, the other treatments showed reduced longevity with increased toxicant concentration. A reduction in the viability of eggs laid by treated beetles was related to the age of the female and the toxicant dosage applied. The geotropic response of treated beetles in a test chamber was similar to the response of untreated individuals.
