STRUCTURAL TRANSITION AND MOTION OF DOMAIN-WALLS IN LIQUID-CRYSTALS UNDER A ROTATING MAGNETIC-FIELD

摘要
A sharp transition from static to propagating domain walls is observed in a homeotropic nematic layer driven by a rotating magnetic field. We show experimentally that this transition is a manifestation of the transition of wall structure from Ising type to Bloch type. We find that the initial curvature of the wall plays an important role in this transition. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
