TARGET SCREENING EFFECT ON THE PROJECTILE ELECTRON-LOSS PROBABILITY

摘要
The screening effect in the projectile (target) ionization probability caused by the electrons that are attached to the target (projectile) during a collision process is studied using the time-dependent semiclassical approximation. The equivalence of the proposed approach with the plane-wave Born approximation is demonstrated and a simple procedure is suggested to obtain the impact-parameter-dependent ionization probabilities, when the screening is present, from calculations that do not take this effect into account.
