摘要
The intermetallic B2 compound Fe-40at.%Al was mechanically alloyed in argon in a Turbula T2C mixer in order to introduce Y2O3 particles. Process parameters such as average energy per collision, powder quantity, additions of elemental powders and process control agents were explored. The milling process was followed by a variety of techniques including X-ray peak broadening. Creep tests were performed with hot isostatically pressed Fe-40at.%Al containing 2 vol.% Y2O3. At 1200 K the creep strength was improved by up to a factor 4 and a high stress exponent, characteristic of oxide dispersion strengthened materials, was found.
