A VECTOR MOVING MODEL OF BOTH REVERSIBLE AND IRREVERSIBLE MAGNETIZING PROCESSES

We propose a moving-vector model of magnetic hysteresis that computes the media magnetization as the convolution of an applied-field-dependent vector D(H) with a Preisach distribution function P(M,H). The effect of the interaction field is to offset the asteroid which is normally symmetric. In order to relate the parameters to physical distributions, the Preisach field variables used are the isolated particle switching field and the interaction field. The vector D(H) is a function of the same Preisach variables and is process dependent and includes both reversible and irreversible magnetization changes. The asteroids can be rotated to simulate imperfectly aligned particles.
