EFFECT OF CATION VALENCE ON THERMAL-EXPANSION OF NATI2P3O12, CA05TI2P3O12, LA033TI2P3O12 COMPOUNDS

摘要
The thermal expansion behavior ofMTi2P3O12compounds withM =Na+, Ca2+0.5, and La3+0.33has been studied by high temperature X-ray diffraction. The difference in the anisotropic axial thermal expansion coefficients drastically varies for cations with varying charges but with similar sizes. The thermal expansion in this family of compounds seems to be essentially due toM{single bond}Obond expansion. A new compound La0.33Ti2P3O12 with hexagonal structure (a = 8.295Å andc = 22.426Å) is reported. © 1990 Academic Press, Inc. All rights reserved.
