FTIR INVESTIGATIONS ON THE INFLUENCE OF OXYGEN SPILLOVER ON THE OXIDATION RATE OF ADSORBED BENZOIC-ACID

摘要
FTIR spectroscopy was used to investigate the burning rate of an organic compound (benzoic acid adsorbed in the form of benzoate ion, as a model for a coke) on alumina. The burning rate was clearly increased by addition of Pt/Al2O3 to the above-mentioned oxide, in comparison to the addition of pure alumina. A combination with GC measurements allows determination of the reaction order with respect to oxygen, which is 0.5. © 1990.
