RESONANT TRANSFER THROUGH A RANDOM MEDIUM

摘要
We consider a system with one degree of freedom in the presence of a stochastic environment. The influence of this environment is the superposition of two effects: a stochastic motion in a potential barrier and a fluctuation of the potential configuration itself We show, on a model which is analytically solvable, that these two phenomena can conspire to produce a maximum in the overall rate constant and that the presence of highly fluctuating barriers can enhance the rate constant.
