Recently; we have demonstrated experimentally that PVDF films can be made into electronic pulse detectors for individual ultra-heavy nuclei; such as for the cosmic radiation; and could eventually become useful in large-area experiments for detection and trajectory determination of such nuclei [7-9]. Their response to ultra-heavy nuclei arises from the electrical signal produced in the pyroelectric mode.
