MEASUREMENT OF THE KINETIC EFFECT ON THE CONCENTRATION FIELD OF A GROWING DENDRITE

摘要
We have observed the concentration field around a dendrite growing from a supersaturated NH4Cl aqueous solution. We found that the difference between the concentration at the tip and that at equilibrium increased linearly with the tip velocity, implying that the kinetic term betav dominates the interfacial behavior of the growing dendrite. The diffusion length is inversely proportional to the tip velocity.
