摘要
A general theory for the optimization of secondary chemical equilibria in liquid chromatography (SCE-LC) is presented. Equations that predict the optimum mobile phase conditions are derived explicitly for the equilibrium AX reversible reaction A plus X. The selectivity of SCE-LC has been substantially underestimated because nonoptimum mobile phase conditions were employed in previous selectivity estimates. The theory is experimentally verified for acid-base equilibria.
