摘要：

Various processes resulting in the formation of PCDDs and PCDFs are discussed. Ranking of the different sources in Sweden demonstrates that the production of iron and steel is most significant followed by incineration of hospital waste and municipal waste, all resulting in PCDD/F emissions into the air. The concepts of patterns and profiles are discussed as well as historical trends.
