THE A[-X ELECTRONIC-TRANSITION OF THE N2O+-NE CLUSTER

摘要
The A 2-SIGMA+ <-- X 2-PI transition of N2O+-Ne has been measured by observing the yield of the photodissociation reaction, N2O+-Ne + hv --> N2O+ + Ne, as a function of wavelength. Results of this study indicate that the vibrational frequencies of the N2O+ core are little altered by the addition of the Ne atom but that it does quench the electronic orbital angular momentum of the X state of the N2O+ core. A provisional value for the quenching parameter-epsilon, associated with the presence of the Ne atom, is determined as 50 +/- 8 cm-1.
