摘要
Charging processes in lead-acid batteries cause a typical 'multilayer' configuration due to stratification in the electrolyte as sulfuric acid is generated. In consequence a voltage gradient is formed between the bottom and the top of the cell and the efficiency and performance are reduced. Modern methods of mixing the solution, by using compressed air or pumping the solution upwards, avoid stratification but introduce foreign elements. In this paper a new method of avoiding stratification by circulating sulfuric acid through a magnetic pump is presented.
