MONTE-CARLO EVIDENCE OF FINITE-TEMPERATURE CHIRAL ORDERING IN A 3-DIMENSIONAL XY SPIN-GLASS

摘要
The nearest-neighbor +/-JXY (plane rotator) spin glass in three dimensions is studied by means of a Monte Carlo simulation, with a focus on its chiral ordering. Finite-size scaling analysis indicates that the chiral-glass transition takes place at a finite temperature with the associated exponents nu(c) = 1.5 +/- 0.3 and eta(c) = -0.4 +/- 0.2, whereas the conventional spin-glass ordering occurs only at zero temperature. The obtained chiral-glass exponents are close to the spin-glass exponents of a three-dimensional Ising spin glass.
