摘要
Neutron experiments on a single crystal of La1.8Sr0.2NiO4 show that short-range two-dimensional correlations exist within the Ni-O planes. At low temperature they are of sufficient duration (>10(-11) s) to appear in the elastic energy window of the spectrometer. We discuss various physical models for the spin correlations and present calculations on an antiphase domain model, which qualitatively simulates the observations.
