MASSIVELY PARALLEL TIME-DEPENDENT WAVE-PACKET CALCULATIONS IN A CLASSICALLY CHAOTIC POTENTIAL

摘要
The time-dependent solution to Schroedinger's equation is obtained using a parallel algorithm on a massively parallel computer. The algorithms used are reviewed and their running speed on serial and parallel architectures is contrasted. The system studied has a classical analogue which undergoes a gradual transition from regular to chaotic motion as a function of a parameter of the Hamiltonian. The decay of the autocorrelation function is studied. In addition, the time dependence of the information measure and spatial correlation is studied.
