摘要
Spectrophotometric analysis of commercially available window glass sheets was carried out to determine their characteristics as high-dose gamma rays dosimeter. Linear response was obtained from 2 to 16 kGy for 2 mm thick window glass at selected wavelengths of analysis (500, 586 and 665 nm). The glass sheets were exposed to different light and temperature conditions that are commonly encountered at commercial irradiation facilities. At room temperature, the response of dosimeter is stable up to 60 days after small initial decrease in the absorbance within first two days at all the selected wavelengths. At higher storage temperatures the initial decrease is significant. In direct sunlight, the radiation induced absorbance fades quickly while diffused sunlight and room fluorescent light have no significant effect on post-irradiation stability.
