DETECTING THE VECTOR RESONANCES OF A STRONGLY INTERACTING SECTOR THROUGH LEPTONIC DECAYS AT LHC AND SSC

摘要
We study at future hadron colliders the production through qqbar annihilation of vector resonances V0, V+- expected in a model with electroweak symmetry breaking by a strongly interacting sector (BESS model). For reasonable values of BESS parameters (as restricted by present experiments and also by future LEP data assuming no deviations from the standard model within attainable precision) the detection of V0 and V+- bosons through their leptonic decays will be difficult once background and rough simulation of a calorimeter are taken into account. The situation is different if there is direct coupling of V to fermions, again in a range allowed by present and future LEP data.
