PARAMETRIZATION OF ELECTRON-SPIN-RESONANCE SPECTRA OF EVEN AND ODD ISOTOPES OF MO-5+ IN TUNGSTEN PHOSPHATE-GLASSES

By computer simulation of the electron spin resonance spectra of even and odd isotopes of Mo5+ in WO3-BaO-p2O5 glasses of various compositions, the characteristics of the distributions of g values and hyperfine structure parameters have been deduced. Using these data, the characteristics of the distributions of energy level splittings and bonding parameters of Mo5+ are separately determined. Variations of these parameters in relation to the glass composition are discussed. The magnitudes of the relative distribution widths, approximately 10% for the energy level splittings and a few per cent for the bonding parameters, reflect the degree of short-range disorder in the environment of Mo5+ ions.
