摘要
The use of chloroplast membranes to photoproduce chemicals requires their stabilization. This has been achieved by immobilization in a serum albumin-glutaraldehyde matrix. Immobilization in such a matrix induced a drop of about 30% in the photosystem II (PSII) activity. The effect of the matrix on PSII was investigated. Effects of glutaraldehyde and serum albumin as well as immobilization in other kinds of matrices were also tested. The loss of activity can be explained largely by a screening effect of the matrix against molecules used for the activity test as well as against light.
