RELATIVISTIC ALL-ELECTRON AB-INITIO CALCULATIONS FOR THE GROUND AND EXCITED-STATES OF THE MERCURY ATOM

摘要
We present the results of relativistic all-electron ab initio calculations on the mercury atom, using the spin-free no-pair Hamiltonian in a Gaussian basis set expansion. Excitation energies, electron affinity and ionization potential were calculated using a multi-reference configuration interaction technique. The results are in good agreement with experimental data. A new basis set of Gaussian functions for the mercury atom is proposed.
