Since his early days in the laboratory of Peter Gorer in the 1950s, Professor Richard Batchelor's distinguished research career has encompassed transplantation, tolerance, the MHC and disease suseptibility. A recent symposium not only provided an important overview of this rapidly progressing branch of immunology, but also gave Richard's friends and collaborators a chance to honour his influence and Key contributions.
