CREATIVE ACHIEVEMENT AND PSYCHOPATHOLOGY - COMPARISON AMONG PROFESSIONS

摘要：

This study attempts to determine the relationship between creative activity and psychopathology. Extensive information was obtained on 1,005 individuals whose biographies were reviewed in the New York Times Book Review over a 30-year Period. The results indicated that individuals in the creative arts Professions experienced significantly more psychopathology and underwent psychotherapy more frequently than those in other Professions and that certain forms of psychopathology were Predictive of creative achievement.
