摘要
The thermoelectric power of Ce(Pb1-xSnx)3 has been measured in the temperature range from 2 to 300 K. The heavy fermion state in CePb3 is seen to pass, with the increase of Sn concentration of the samples, to a Kondo state with a very low value of the Kondo temperature, and then to the intermediated valence state. In Mott's equation based on the smooth energy variation of the density of states and the relaxation time of conduction electrons, S is expressed to be linear in T. In the other way around, an existence of a peak of a curve of S vs. T and its deviation from the linearity are considered to be due to the existence of a structure in the density of states and/or the relaxation time with the energy width corresponding to the temperature of the peak.
