摘要：

The exchange of solid models is very important in computer integrated manufacturing (CIM). Solid models are represented by data. The definition of a corresponding neutral data format is one central topic of the national and international interface (processor) developments (CAD*I, PDES, STEP). These activities are surveyed and the concepts (data and reference models, and formal and semiformal specification of processors) are described, which are the basis for the definition of the CAD*I data format and the implementation of the corresponding processors.
