摘要
Chemical and electrochemical lithium insertion in lacunar pyrochlore-type WO3 (l.p. WO3) with a composition H0.5W1.54O4.87 have been investigated. Li insertion in l.p. WO3 is a topotactic reaction with conservation of the W-O matrix in the range 0<x<0.5. The strain effects of lithium insertion produce a small decrease of the lattice parameter: a=10.248(1) angstrom for l.p.WO3 and a=10.224(1) angstrom for l.p.Li0.5WO3. For x>0.5 progressive amorphization occurs; the weakness of the pyrochlore W-O matrix may be related to its very large lacunar structure with 23% and 18% W and O vacancies, respectively.
