摘要
Force transducers employing mechanical double-ended tuning-fork (DETF) resonators are very useful due to their virtual digital output, which allows easy interfacing with computers. The devices have excellent stability, inherent low hysteresis, low drift, high resolution and excellent static characteristics. When an applied force is undergoing dynamic changes, inertial and damping considerations apply. A technique for demodulation of the modulated signal from a DETF subjected to a dynamic applied force is described. A 50 N force transducer having an unloaded natural frequency of 4 kHz has been subjected to a periodically varying force of +/-1 N superimposed on a 10 N static force by means of a mass connected to a mechanical vibrator. The frequency of the varying force has been taken up to 400 Hz and the DETF responds at this frequency.
