摘要
A thin film of polyacrylonitrile, deposited by electropolymerization onto a cathode of oxidizable metal (Ni, Fe) is subjected to heat treatment under vacuum. This procedure results in a film of pyrolytic carbon, which retains the essential properties of a polyacrylonitrile film: homogeneity, purity, and a strong adherence to the metallic substrate. The covering of non-refractory oxidizable metals by thin films of pyrolytic carbon has thus become possible.
