摘要
We propose an oscillating universe model as a possible explanation for the recently observed periodicity in the redshift distribution of galaxies with a characteristic scale of 128h-1 Mpc (where h ≈ 0.5-1 is the present Hubble parameter in units of 100 km s-1 Mpc-1). The oscillation of the Hubble parameter causes an apparent density fluctuation without conflicting with the isotropy of the microwave background radiation. We study a nonconformally coupled scalar field model. As a direct consequence of the present scenario, we give several predictions: a changing Hubble parameter on a scale z ≈ 0.01, a dark matter density that increases with distance, a QSO redshift periodicity which agrees with the periodicity of 0.2 in the variable In(1+z), the age of the universe 6.4(±0.2)×109h-1 yr, and parametric amplification of the real density perturbations. We also give some proposals for future observations to check the scenario.
