摘要
Dielectric track detector autoradiography of alpha particles combined with neutron induced fission fragment radiography provides a technique for detection, isotope identification, and measurement of size characteristics of transuranic elements present in airborne particulate form. Isotope identification is based on the observed ratio of decay constant to fission cross section for each particle. Sizes are calculated from the number of tracks observed per particle. The method has been applied successfully to uncontaminated air samples as well as samples taken from a plutonium reprocessing laboratory.
