NEW BOUNDS ON MT AND 1ST BOUNDS ON MH FROM PRECISION ELECTROWEAK DATA

摘要
We present new results from a global analysis of all the electroweak data including precision measurements of the Z0 mass and decays from LEP. Data from both low-energy and high-energy experiments indicate indepently that the top quark mass mt≈100-160 GeV. When combined they give mt=127+24-30 GeV, for the Higgs mass MH=MZ. For the first time, the data also giv non-trivial bounds on MH: independently of mt 1.8 GeV <MH<6 TeV (68% CL), with the preferred value of MH being below MH. Furthermore, if the top quark were found below the above central value, the data would provide a stronger upper bound: In (MH/MZ) <3.97 -8.90 mt/MZ+5.56 (mt/MZ)2 (68% CL), which gives MH <600 GeV for mt≤120 GeV. © 1990.
