Widespread demand for accurate determinations of the enantiomeric purity of pharmaceuticals used in synthetic and pharmacological research has increased the need for reliable and efficacious methods for separating the stereoisomers of a variety of biologically active compounds. Here we present a procedure for the separation of the enantiomers of a number of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as their anilide derivatives, by HPLC LK using chiral stationary phases. The chromatographic conditions, the chiral stationary phase, and the choice of the derivitizing amine can be altered to accomodate various requirements. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
