Optical depolarization in CaF2:RE(3+) and SrF2:RE(3+)C(4v) centers due to dipole reorientation

摘要
The temperature dependence of fluorescence depolarization has been investigated in C-4v(F-) centers in Pr3+ and Eu3+ doped CaF2 and SrF2 crystals. A single potential barrier for the reorientation of the interstitial fluorine was sufficient for the Eu3+ doped crystals, but for Pr3+ a second, lower-energy reorientation barrier was required.
