UTILIZATION OF ACRYLATE-EMBEDDED LARGE TISSUE SAMPLES IN DERMATOHISTOLOGY

A method of embedding tissue in synthetic material seldom used in dermatohistology is described. This process combines the preparative advantage of slight artifactual alteration of organic tissue and readily reproducible sections between 1-3 .mu. in thickness with the feature of light microscopy that tissue slices of normal dimensions can be prepared without difficulty. It avoids the disadvantages of the small dimensions of the preparations required for the ultramicroscope. With few exceptions, all staining methods applied to paraffin slices can also be used.
