UNRESTRICTED HARTREE-FOCK STUDY OF THE 2-BAND HAMILTONIAN IN DOPED CUO2 PLANES

摘要
The two-band Hamiltonian for CuO2 layers of high-T(c) superconductors is analyzed within the most unrestricted version of the Hartree-Fock approximation, as a function of hole doping. As in the case of the one-band Hamiltonian, a large number of nearly degenerate self-consistent solutions exist. In particular, a vortex solution in which the spins are coplanar and form a vortexlike pattern is also found. Two sets of parameters, with and without Coulomb repulsion in the O atoms, are considered and their corresponding results compared. The total density of one-electron states is also calculated. The results indicate that, although doping introduces localized states within the antiferromagnetic gap, the latter remains well defined. The differences and similarities between the present results and those for the one-band Hamiltonian are remarked on.
