摘要
The reaction rates for hydrogen-atom abstraction by hydroxyl radicals are important in determining the residence times of HCFCs and HFCs in the atmosphere. For fluorine and chlorine substituted methane and ethane, an approximate correlation is noted between the Mulliken charge on hydrogen and the activation energy for this process. The relationship should prove useful in predictions of previously unknown rates. © 1990.
