摘要
An aluminum single crystal with an unstable initial orientation (001) [110] was compressed in a channel die device at room temperature. The crystal split into regions which rotated in opposite directions about an axis in the zero strain direction. At large reductions, these regions approached the stable copper texture components. These experiments were analyzed using a simplified analytical model and detailed finite element models. The predicted rotation of the crystal lattice with strain and the predicted stress-strain response are in good agreement with the experiments. The analyses show that, for this particular crystal orientation, the lattice rotation rate is very sensitive to the constraints on the crystal, and the lattice rotation is relatively insensitive to the constitutive model.
