摘要
Fractal principles provide a powerful tool for representing seemingly chaotic situations using deterministic mathematics. As such, they are ideally suited to describing soil fabric. This Paper describes the principles upon which fractal mathematics are based, and formulates an algorithm that can be used to generate two- and three-dimensional representations of soil fabric. Specific examples that realistically replicate typical soil fabrics are presented.
