摘要
The free vibrations of a linearly tapered cantilever beam, elastically constrained at an arbitrary position along the length of the beam, have been investigated using the Bernoulli-Euler equation. The beam has a rectangular cross-section with equal taper in the horizontal and vertical planes, and the constraint is a translational spring. The characteristic determinant is derived in terms of dimensionless spring constant, and the eigenfrequencies are determined using a straight search and bisection method. The results are presented in tabular and graphical form. © 1993 Academic Press Limited.
