摘要
Acoustical cross sections of random homogeneous dense systems of interacting Rayleigh particles are studied analytically. A model for the radial distribution function is proposed. The role of the far-field and the near-field effects on the acoustic characteristics is investigated. It is found that the near-field effect on the scattered sound is negligible compared to the far-field effect. The validity of some assumptions is investigated. It is found that interaction among particles may increase or decrease the attenuation effect depending on the volume fraction and the properties of the particulate system.
