INCOHERENT INELASTIC NEUTRON-SCATTERING FROM LIQUID WATER - A THEORETICAL-STUDY

摘要
A quantum-mechanical theory of incoherent, inelastic neutron scattering from liquid water is presented. This theory is statistical and is similar to those describing the inelastic light scattering. The experimental spectra are reproduced theoretically. The role of vibrational relaxation processes as well as of those due to librational motions is emphasized.
